An important message from our amazing PAC - thank you for all you did this year to support students and staff at Deep Cove!  Please see the message below:

Thank you to all the parents that attended the AGM in February. We set the budgets for the 2021-2022 school year and elected the new executive, a key event that contributes to so many of the wonderful experiences and resources our teachers and students get to benefit from. Congratulations to President Tara Keeping, Secretary Nicole DeGreef, Treasurer Jody Kary and Volunteer coordinator Sarah Kerrigan. We want to extend a huge thank you to the executives outgoing Treasurer Jen Dahl and Aoy Broome of the Spirit Committee for all your hard work and commitment to the Deep Cove community. As we all know, this year was unlike any other. The staff and students at Deep Cove have all worked so hard to keep everyone safe and healthy and ensured a successful school year with no interruptions. Sadly, many of our annual events were not able to happen, but we are looking forward to the next school year that will hopefully see a big return of special events and activities for the school community. We will be in need of many volunteers for our upcoming school year to ensure that all of our programs and events are able to run again. Programs like our morning toast club, hot lunch, fruit and veggie program, book fair, halloween haunted housejust to name a few. Volunteering is a great way to get to know the school community and meet some new faces! Our big event of course is our annual Christmas Fair, which was cancelled this past year. A long held tradition enjoyed by not only the students and their families, but the larger community as well. It is a legacy that has been going on for more than 40 years. We are in need of at least 2 coordinators (the more the merrier) to take on the task of organizing our ONE big event of the year. It’s an event that helps raise so much of the necessary funds for our children’s activities and supplies for the following school year. It is an evening that all the kids look so forward to and talk about all year. Planning begins in the fall and previous year’s coordinators are happy and available to share their knowledge and experience with you. Our Parent Executive Committee is another great way to volunteer some time for your school. We currently still have a few positions open and always encourage new members! We meet once a month for a very informal get together (there is always tea and snacks-and babysitters) and discuss events and opportunities for our school community. We are currently looking to fill these positions (and they can be shared by more than 1 person) • Spirit Committee (organize special events for everyone to enjoy i.e. family bbq, dances, end of year potluck) • Communications coordinator Non-Exec Positions: • Book Fair (French and English) • School Clothing If you would like to join the PAC or become one our valuable coordinators, please contact our volunteer coordinator Sarah at deepcovevolunteercoord@gmail.com Thank you, Deep Cove PAC
