Final Fundraising Update
by Steve MacGregor - Monday, 15 October 2018, 4:44 PM

Thank you, Deep Cove community!  We wrapped up our Tour de Rock and Terry Fox fundraising campaigns and achieved our goal of raising $2500 which means that we raised approximately as much money for each charity as we traditionally have for Terry Fox alone.  Thanks to all for their support of these two great causes.  As part of the event, Mr. Makuch and Mr. MacGregor are sporting new hair styles today.  Thanks to former Deep Cove student and current owner of Uomo Modern Barber, Steve Bailey for providing the final donation to put us over the $2500 mark, and for providing his time and services at the assembly today.

Thanks yet again, Deep Cove!IMG_0181.JPG

Fundraising Update
by Steve MacGregor - Wednesday, 10 October 2018, 4:51 PM

We are coming up on $2000 as we near the end of our fundraising campaign for Tour de Rock and Terry Fox.  A reminder of Thursday's popcorn sale ($2 per bag) and that donations can be made either online (buttons on the left of the Deep Cove website) or at the office.

We are not far from M. Makuch getting a haircut and maybe some other staff members getting a fresh hair do.  Let's bring in those final donations by Friday!  Thanks Deep Cove!

Reminders for the Week of Oct.9 to Oct. 12
by Steve MacGregor - Tuesday, 9 October 2018, 11:04 AM

A few reminders for the coming week:

  • We have early dismissal days on Wednesday and Thursday this week.  School will dismiss at 1:48 each of those days and busses will run early (right after dismissal) both days.
  • We have individual photo day on Wednesday. Retakes will be in November.
  • Wednesday is also the day for our Ready, Set, Learn! event for pre-school aged children from 3:30 to 6:00.
  • Friday is hot lunch day.
  • This is also our final week for our Terry Fox and Tour de Rock fundraising.  Hopefully we will hit a couple more of our thresholds and see some staff with new hair dos in the coming days.
