Hello Deep Cove Dolphins!

We are excited to greet you over the next two days.  Families, we know that this year the start is VERY different start than usual and we will work hard to make the transition as successful as possible.   Please take time to review, role play or talk about what tomorrow will look like for your child.  Students do not need to bring anything (backpack, snack etc.) with them for the visit.  Staff will be greeting students at the three entrance locations and escorting them to their cohorts. (Gr.1& 2 -8:40-10:10 - Gr. 3 -12:30-2:00 - Fri. Gr. 4-5 8:40-10:10)

  • Staff will greet students at one of three entrances:  Front of School, Gate at West Saanich and Clayton, and at the drive through drop off area.
  • Parents and Guardians are asked not to enter school grounds with their children following Safety Guidelines
  • Students will receive a coloured cohort wristband and be escorted to their cohort teacher.  From there they will proceed with their orientation

How will I know where to pick up my child?

  • teachers will bring classes out onto the upper field and will be facing West Saanich Road
  • Parents and Guardians - please wait (social distancing) on the lower portion of the field (by swings)
  • teachers will ensure a connection for families.
  • Going forward, classroom teachers will communicate regular pick up spots for families.
  • Extra staff will be circulating to help with this transition.
Tomorrow will be a starting point to reconnect our community.  Teachers will be focusing on reconnecting and building relationships for the 2020-2021 school year as well as familiarizing all students with Health and Safety protocols.  (The following is one of the many ways this will be accomplished: (https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1LpAvo6NXsNrvVAT9iKvnFlicFpUXI5UGeQwz36EeGOI/edit?usp=sharing

We have a strong and committed team who have worked hard to prepare for the restart.  We anticipate that despite our best efforts there will be some speed bumps along the way.  Please know we are here, we will continually reflect and adapt as needed and we so appreciate your patience as we navigate this very unique situation.

Can't wait to see those smiling faces tomorrow - Shelley
