The Provincial Health Officer has provided updated guidelines for schools and childcare programs to help reduce the risk of transmission of respiratory illnesses including COVID-19. The guidelines include recommendations for school administrators regarding preventative practices and policies, communication to parents, supporting students and families who are self-isolating/monitoring, and steps to take if students or staff begin to experience symptoms while at school. The guidelines also provide information for staff on actions they can take to support students‘ social-emotional well-being, links to additional resources, and a list of disinfecting products.
