Flags at district schools are currently at half mast due to the unexpected passing of Chief Andy Thomas, hereditary leader of the Esquimalt Nation for more than 35 years.
Flags are also at half-mast in memory of the victims of the tragic accident near Tisdale, Saskatchewan.
In the interest of school spirit and as a show of support for the community of Humboldt, Deep Cove students are invited to wear their favourite sports jersey to school tomorrow (Thursday). We know that not everybody has access to a jersey and we will do our best to share here at the school from our Deep Cove jerseys should a child wish to join in but not have anything from home. Weather permitting we will aim to take a full school photo at the end of the day.
