As many of you know, Earth Week is approaching!! This is a week dedicated to teaching the kids about our earth, the impact that we have on it, and how we need to take care of it.
We are looking for any volunteers – even people you might know in the community that are not directly associated with the school – to do a short presentation on any topic of their choice.
The presentation only has to be 30-40 min long (this includes time for questions) and can be presented to a class/classes (grade level) of your choice. Choose your topic, choose your audience, and choose the date and time you are able to do it!
Earth Week runs from April 18-22 (note: Apr 22 is a non-instructional day). If you are not able to come during the said dates, we will accommodate you for another week.
As far as topics are concerned the sky is the limit, but a few examples of topics are: pollution in our water system, the impact of plastic, local food vs. transported food, deforestation, landfills, recycling, cars/fossil fuels, global warming, polar bears and icecaps, etc.
This is a really fun week that the kids thoroughly enjoy. Please contact Stephanie Gilmore (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you are interested in presenting.
Can’t bare the thought of public speaking or presenting, but would love to learn a little more about what you can do to help our Planet? Feel free to attend the presentations (dates and times will be posted soon) and check out the school website for helpful tips and related links.
