Lesotho - Bless Your Sole!
As we begin our New Year, Motati’s school in Lesotho has opened for the beginning of their new school year. There is no heating in Motati School and the floors are made of cement. Many children have no shoes, or they are so warn, they offer no protection from the environment. The needs for shoes is great. We currently have received funds for 68 shoes so far – last year we raised enough to purchase 100 pairs of shoes. Can we do it again this year?
Our shoe drive is continuing until Jan 25th. If you would like to participate, please send in your donations to “Help Lesotho” by Jan 25th. If you would like a receipt for tax purposes, please include a little note indicating so. $25 will pay for a pair of locally made shoes . We will recognize the families/children who have participated in February.
Peg Herbert heading to Lesotho
In March, Peg will be heading to Lesotho and she has offered to hand carry a few items from Deep Cove School to our twinned Motati School. Teachers will be working with the kids to create some special items from the classes for this school.
Christmas Fair – The Lesotho room and silent auction made $1362 this year. In addition to the shoe drive we have also received an additional $230 from miscellaneous fundraising including a plant sale and a birthday party (Keenan Gale). Way to Go Deep Cove!
